New Classic Sonic Footage from Sonic Forces

A showcase of the second gameplay style.

SEGA has just released new footage of their upcoming multi-platform game Sonic Forces. It features the returning character Classic Sonic racing through Green Hill Zone, except the stage bears some new aesthetics. The sparkling water has been replaced with flowing falls of sand and the badniks have received some futuristic upgrades.

Classic Sonic retains his spin dash, as usual, and appears to play exactly like his incarnation from 2011’s Sonic Generations. Classic Sonic will be one of the three gameplay styles offered in Sonic Team’s high speed platformer. The other two styles will be playable through Modern Sonic and an unannounced third character. SEGA has stated that this mystery character will be unveiled at E3 2017.

The video comes from the Sonic The Hedgehog Official Youtube Channel.

Sonic Forces releases for Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, and PC during Holiday 2017. Will you be picking it up when it hits shelves? Let us know in the comments!

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy Announced

DLC that no one saw coming.

Naughty Dog recently revealed a shocking surprise at the Sony Playstation Experience 2016. They are currently developing a DLC spinoff of Uncharted 4: A Theif’s End called Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.

The Lost Legacy will take place after the events of Uncharted 4, and will star Chloe Frazer and Nadine Ross instead of the iconic Nathan Drake from previous entries. This is due to Naughty Dog stating that Nathan Drake’s story is done. So it makes sense that any future installments in the franchise will center around faces new to the spotlight.

The trailer shows Nadine and Chloe taking part in traditional Uncharted gameplay. The story will feature the two of them searching India for a treasure called the Tusk of Ganesha. It will mostly be set around Chloe, with a different tone than Drake’s adventures. According to the game director Kurt Margenau, Chloe will also feature “her own fighting style” that is less “brawly” than Drake’s.

As for the levels, Margenau describes them as “wide-linear”, much like regular Uncharted fashion. He added that it will actually be “going a little more wide”, with a lot a driving sections.

This DLC/Spinoff will most likely be PS4 exclusive, seeing as the last game was. It will be available in 2017, but no concrete release date was specified.

Uncharted 4‘s creative director, Shaun Escayg, stated that if “you picked up Uncharted 4 Digital Deluxe Edition or the Explorer’s Pack, you’ll get Uncharted: The Lost Legacy as a download at launch.” He also stated that those two versions will only be available until December 13, 2016. If you want that deal, you’d better act fast.

Playstation 4 Slim Unboxing on ThatGuyAntio

A new video on my channel.

I realize that the release of the Playstation 4 Slim was two months ago, but this video took longer than I thought it would to make. Plus, there was my Pokemon Moon Unboxing and the first episode of the Cube Command Podcast to start to make, so I’ve had my hands full. So here’s my unboxing for Sony’s updated PS4 console, the PS4 Slim!

The Slim should run a lot smoother and quieter than its predecessor, and so far, it’s great! I’m enjoying every second I use it. The updated controller feels comfortable, and the light bar isn’t too much of a problem for me. I usually don’t pay attention to the controller when I play, and the sliver of light they added to the top of the controller is very small and at times unnoticeable. And yes, the PS4 is runs pretty silently, compared to the other consoles on the market. In my opinion, if you want a quiet, current-gen console that is a lot easier on the wallet than the recently released PS4 Pro, the PS4 Slim is a great option.

Pre-Black Friday Deals from Gamestop: Get $50 Off 1TB Xbox One S

Early deals for gamers.

Before Black Friday hits on Friday, November 25, Gamestop has announced that they will have some tempting Pre-Black Friday deals that will be available on November 22-23. Which means that they start today.

To start the event off, Gamestop has shaved off a good $50 off the 1TB Xbox One S system, as well as $20 off the Samsung Gear VR. This brings the 1TB Xbox One S to $250 and the Samsung Gear VR to $80. If you’re the owner of a samsung phone and looking for a cheap entry into the world of VR, this is your chance.

During the event, anyone can enjoy 50% extra credit when trading in items. Gamestop also included that anyone is eligible for “Free Value Shipping” on orders over $35. One would assume that this would be for online orders.

These, among others, are the Pre-Black Friday deals which start today. Make sure you catch them while they’re out. Gamestop’s actual Black Friday deals start November 25 and include many of these deals above, including Overwatch for $35 and the Xbox One S for $250 (you can also nab a PS4 for the same price). On Friday, Gamstop will also be offering a Buy Two Get One Free for all pre-ownded products. On the subject of trade credit, you will still get extra, but only 20% more instead of 50%.

For more about Gamestop, they recently announced earlier in the year that they will accept retro trade-ins and will sell them online. Be sure to visit Cube Command for more gaming news!

Just a Pokemon Moon Unboxing

A look at the new release!

Pokemon Sun and Moon were released on Firday, November 18. I was able to pre-order a copy of Moon so I could make this little unboxing video. It’s me opening the case and taking a look at the cartridge. Check it out!

(In case you’re wondering where the unboxing for Sun is, there is none. Simply put, I didn’t buy one. There is a shot of my sister’s open copy at the end of the video, though.)

Rumor: Pokemon Stars Coming to Nintendo Switch

Another Pokemon title to look forward to?

With the release of Pokemon Sun and Moon in full peak, a curious new rumor has emerged regarding Pokemon’s presence on the upcoming Nintendo Switch. According to Eurogamer, it seems that GameFreak is developing a new, upgraded version of Pokemon Sun and Moon called Pokemon Stars.

The new entry will reportedly be a third version, similar to how the Pokemon games were structured before Pokemon Black/White/B2/W2. It will be on the Nintendo Switch and “feature the same map – the same routes and cities – and the same art style, although be built using separate, higher-resolution assets,” according to the report. Pokemon can also be traded between the 3DS and Switch versions through Pokemon Box. GameFreak may also be creating new features and Pokemon for the new entry.

The inclusion of a third entry in the Alola region would be a welcome return to form for the franchise, since the last entries to do this were Pokemon Diamond/Pearl and eventually Platinum. Pokemon Black/White had full-fledged sequels and Pokemon X and Y never saw the release of a third entry, going directly to the Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire remakes (OmegaRuby and Alpha Sapphire, respectively).

For those of you reconsidering purchasing Sun/Moon, the rumored Pokemon Stars will reportedly not be available at Summer 2017 at the earliest, with the possibility of being delayed further. So if you’re excited to jump into the Alola region, go ahead and nab a copy of Pokemon Sun and Moon.

GameFreak did announce before that they had a Pokemon title in development for the Nintendo Switch (referred to at the time as the NX). Pokemon Stars may very well be that game. It would certainly be a much-needed launch title for Nintendo’s next system.

Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Update

As of November 2016, the Xbox One can now play Skate 3, a skating simulator, and Scary Girls, an adventure-platformer. Alongside those titles, the Xbox One can also play Guardian Heroes, a side-scrolling beat ’em up from 1996 and OFP: Red River, a first-person shooter. It should be noted that these games are only able to be played on the Xbox One if they are the physical disc versions.

These are Xbox 360 titles that Microsoft has given Xbox One support to. They join a long list of games that is expanded continuously. You can find the full list here, on Cube Command.

Microsoft has confirmed that more games, including three Bioshock games (Bioshock, Bioshock 2 and Bioshock Infinite) are on their way to the Xbox One. Are there any titles that you would like to see added to the future? Let us know in the comments below!

Super Mario Run: Release Date and Price

Just one month to go.

Nintendo recently dropped a trailer and new info on their upcoming mobile title, Super Mario Run. The game is set to release on December for iOS devices in 151 countries and regions. It is being made by an experienced team of developers, including the director Takashi Tezuka, who worked with Shigeru Miyamoto on the original 1985 classic Super Mario Bros.

Apparently, the first part of the game is free to download on any iPad, iPhone, or iTouch devices that run iOS 8.0 or any later versions. Once you try out the game’s three modes, you have the option to purchase the full version for $9.99.

You can check out the new trailer for Super Mario Run, which was uploaded today:

The game plays like you would expect from a modern Mario game, except with a few gameplay changes that come from being on a mobile device. Super Mario Run is an auto-runner, which you can play with one hand. Just tap the screen to make Mario jump while the level auto-scrolls. Do a quick tap to make the plumber hop and a long tap to make him jump higher.

If you don’t own an apple device, you may still be able to play it for yourself in the future. Nintendo has stated that it intends to put Super Mario Run on Android devices, too. They also stated that they plan to make Super Mario Run as popular as Pokemon GO. With the widespread popularity that the Mario franchise possesses, it may not be too hard to do.

PS4 Owners Get Call of Duty VR Game For Free

Something PSVR owners won’t want to miss out on.

Call of Duty fans are no doubt excited about the release of Call of Duty: Infinite Warefare and Call of Duty: Modern Warefare Remastered late last week. Along with the release of those two games, Activision has shed some light on how they will distribute the Playstation VR extension of Call of Duty: Infinite Warefare.

A while ago, Activision stated that people who had a PS4 and a Playstation VR headset would be able to play the Call of Duty VR game, Jackal Assault, provided they purchase Call of Duty: Infinite Warefare for PS4.

But just recently, Activision changed that policy. Now, Any PS4 owners who possess a Playststion VR have free access to Jackal Assault. If you want this new title for your PSVR, you no longer have to purchase a full game to do so. Who would turn down a free game, and a free VR game at that?

The name Jackal Assault comes from the warship of the main character, which he calls Jackal. Back in September, Activision announced it during the Call of Duty XP Event and described that it “immerses you in the cockpit of a Jackal, the personal, multi-role fighter jet”. Another title to add to the small library of PSVR games is never bad for those who want to get the most out of Sony’s virtual reality headset.

Remember, Call of Duty: Infinite Warefare and Call of Duty: Modern Warefare Remastered just released. The PS4 versions have two bundles with the system. The “Standard Edition” includes a 500GB PS4 Slim with Uncharted 4, a controller, and Call of Duty: Infinite Warefare for PS4. The “Legacy Edition” includes a 500GB PS4 Slim with Uncharted 4, a controller, Call of Duty: Infinite Warefare, and Call of Duty: Modern Warefare Remastered for PS4. The bundles are currently priced at $352.91 and $378.88 respectively, with both having free shipping.
